Welcome to Newbie Help,
There are a few things that a new player should do before they even make an account. The first is to read the guide completely at least twice just to become familiar with stuff in the game. The second is to visit Utopia's Strategy Forum and read some of the discussions there. You can get a lot of information there about which races are the best and which races are just unplayable. One more thing a new player should know is that Swirve has been deleting some players that don't put real information when signing up for an account. Mainly they are deleting players that said they were from Mars or some place silly like that. I recommend that you be as honest as you can and to save your sign up info some place safe in case you should need it at a later time. |
Once you have your account the first place to visit is your kingdom forum. There will be a link to it on the left side of your screen. Once in the forum introduce yourself and read what all your kingdom mates have to say. Most kingdoms will have a thread called ICQ#'s or something like that. If you have ICQ put your number in there so your kingdom mates can contact you and help with any troubles you might have. ICQ is an instant messenger, if you don't have it I suggest you get it because it enhances the game a lot in my opinion. Oh, and don't be shy about asking questions in your forum. It shows them that you are willing to learn how to play and most kingdoms love answering newbie questions :-) |
The next place to go is to the politics page. This is where you vote for the monarch of your kingdom. Be sure to vote, even if it's for yourself. This shows the others in your kingdom that you are going to be active. (The reason I stress being active is because if they think you aren't going to be active and participate they'll try to kill your province) |
Most Common Newbie Mistakes 1. Constructing a few of each building. 2. Attacking their own kingdom mates. 3. Stealing and casting magic on kingdom mates. 4. Always asking for aid. |
Correct Way 1. Specialise (attacker, thief, mage) and build accordingly. 2. Attack people "NOT" in the same kingdom as you. 3. Steal & Cast magic on people "NOT" in the same kingdom as you.(unless your monarch gives permission) 4. Only ask for aid when it's a last resort. |
